The Tools

Before you build your first Blueprint site, you need to make sure you have, or have done, the following:

• You should have followed the instructions for installing MySQL, Ruby, Rails and Blueprint outlined in the Getting Set Up section.
• You'll need some kind of text editor on your computer, preferably one with features like code-colouring that will make it easy to read and edit the combined Ruby/HTML templates. Textmate or Coda are both excellent, reasonably-priced options on a Mac (try Textwrangler if you want a free editor);
• A modern web browser for testing your site and accessing the sites admin interface. Make sure install the {missing page}, too.
